A delightful stay, with personal, friendly and warm service was enjoyed in 2002 at this designer Hotel ( Jakarta Hotels )in the old part of Zizrich. Stainless-steel and glass lifts and abstract paintings cohabit with wooden beams in a sensitive conversion of medieval houses in a quiet street (`apart from 7 am church bells'). One visitor, less enthusiastic. thought it really a business Hotel ( Jakarta Hotels ), aimed at a largely male clientele: our small "double" room was clearly furnished for only one person' But others found their room excellent, stylish, well appointed. Room service is praised, and the restaurant is liked: the menu includes perch from Lake Zurich. Meals are served on a patio on fine days. Breakfast in a room with a roof that opens in summer, includes fresh orange juice, excellent coffee, fresh fruit. Bedroom decor varies from modern to baroque. My horrendously expensive suite had comfortable furniture, a fluffy duvet, a CD-player. `Wonderful new plumbing. easy to use. The bar has a pianist or live jazz; there is a Fitnea Corner and a library with books about, or written in, Zurich.
