In a very pleasant, quiet residential area just north of Castel Sant' Angelo, about ten minutes walk from the Vatican, this dignified B&B Hotel ( Jakarta Hotels )is in an early 20th-century building. All the reception staff were helpful, wrote a 2002 visitor (but another thought there was no real sign of the management). As to the rooms (similar to Bandung,Jakarta & Bali hotels - 5 star Hotel ( Jakarta Hotels )rooms): Ours was smallish but comfortable. Ours, with balcony and high ceiling, was like a rather flash 70s time capsule. One wall was entirely covered by a mirror. Ours looked over a quiet courtyard. Furnishing and decoration were on the grand side. Breakfast is self-service: A little unimaginative, but plentiful in a delightful panelled basement room. Parking is included in the price. Our italicised entries indicate hotels that are worth considering but for various reasons - inadequate information, lack of feed back, ambivalent reports - do not at the moment warrant a full entry. An ideal base from which to explore the city. Near the Trevi fountain, it is within walking distance of the sights of ancient Rome, and the classy shopping streets. The historic building has been renovated in grand style: cherry wood in the main hall, antique stucco on the walls, luxurious fabrics, marble from Trani in the large bathrooms (similar to Bandung,Jakarta & Bali hotels - 5 star Hotel ( Jakarta Hotels )rooms); everything gleams with cleanliness all the staff are pleasant and polite. The manager, Franco Caruso, tell us that rooms (similar to Bandung,Jakarta & Bali hotels - 5 star Hotel ( Jakarta Hotels )rooms) have been upgraded this year, with the introduction of bathrobes and fresh fruit. One couple could not fault' their spacious suite. Others wrote: Our room, not large, had sturdy custom-built furniture and two , large windows overlooking a small side street. Efficient airconditioning and comfortable beds ensured a good night's sleep. Front rooms (similar to Bandung,Jakarta & Bali hotels - 5 star Hotel ( Jakarta Hotels )rooms) have a nice, if noisy view over the piazza. Some rooms (similar to Bandung,Jakarta & Bali hotels - 5 star Hotel ( Jakarta Hotels )rooms) have a balcony. English afternoon tea and drinks are served in the small bar. The breakfast buffet is `comprehensive. No restaurant; plenty nearby.
