The Hotel ( Jakarta Hotels )is as charming as its owners, says an endorsement this year of this old manor house which stands in wooded grounds above the river Clerve. It has a magnificent view of this historic little Ardennes town (with a castle and Benedictine abbey). Others called it a very special place, good value, and loved the slightly faded elegance: some of the carpeting is 250 years old, and very valuable. `Clocks galore. Our spacious bedroom had a well-designed bathroom. The owner/managers, Gert Cox and Christiane Kampke, are helpful and entertaining. Dinner was varied and excellent, and the staff were cheerful. They lent us a map and we had a fine walk. Dogs, cats and birds enhance the family atmosphere.
